LEDs.de is Online Shop of the Year 2010
is Online shop of the Year 2010! With this distinction we prevailed against the “big players” and are now on one level with former awardees like Otto.de, Hagebau.de or Fahrrad.de. And since LUMITRONIX« with its 25 employees is a relatively small shop in comparison to the other participants, we are particularly proud of this award.
Our managing director Christian Hoffmann lets Mike (the designer) visualise his mostly extravagant, but also innovative ideas and subsequently technically implements them together with our two programmers Volker and Tobias. Often they work deep into the night, so that our customers possibly only get to see the perfect result.
With the Onlineshop of the Year Award on September 29, 2010 the jury at the mail order conference in Wiesbaden honoured the countless hours necessary to operate our LEDs.de online store. It is a never-ending mammoth task to present the approx. 1,500 LED technology products with a total of more than 100,000 technical data in an interesting, clear, innovative, and understandable manner not only to the layman, but also to an expert audience.
Although our range of products is very technical and in need of explanation, our website at no time looks overloaded, but always clearly arranged. Information is only provided where it is searched for and needed. The queue feature that we began in November 2009 with ten tickets even now after more than 1,000 implemented tickets seems to grow faster than it can be worked off.
Our Three Golden Rules
Basically at LUMITRONIX« three golden rules apply for the online store:
1. Customer orientation. We want our customers, and not the search engine crawlers to feel good. This includes a clear navigation structure, which may negatively influence the search engine ranking, but makes it easier for our customers to find the desired product.
2. Innovation and topicality of our range of products. Every day LUMITRONIX« works on always providing the latest and most premium products. Our employees are especially trained for this purpose and write detailed, comprehensible and informative products descriptions for every item.
3. Purchase procedure without barriers. Not much ado is needed to buy in our online store. If you are in a hurry, you can register as a guest. Enter your data, put items into the basket and buy them. If guests register as customers, you have the opportunity of checking your customer account whenever you want. There you will find information on the status of current orders and always have an overview of all your orders placed so far.
The Online shop of the year jury particularly praised the outstanding linkage between the LEDs.de shop and the ledhilfe.de forum. In the online store, the customers have the chance to call up relevant forum posts on the product or ask their questions directly in the forum in addition to the customer service. “LEDs.de is a David compared to the Goliaths heine.de and otto.de (the two other nominees, editor’s note). However, what was managed there with the limited budget, is outstanding”, said the jury. “Whether the order started on large teaser spaces or the newsletter, the search option or the elegant product restrictions by price or light intensity: up to the quick check out process, which allows the purchase as a guest without registration, LEDs.de is a role model for how even smaller companies can show the big ones how to do it on the internet”, said the jury.
Our well informed community often reduces the response time and moreover provides a considerable added value for the enquirer with its creative dialogues and ideas. Our community is true, competent and fast. We thank all our many members for their competent posts and answers.
